This major is oriented towards the national socio-economic development needs, the national development strategy of artificial intelligence, and the talent demands brought about by AI+ in various fields. With the fundamental goal of moral education and character building, and aiming to establish an internationally first-class specialty, we combine the unique characteristics of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications' information technology program to cultivate a broad-based, high-level advanced professional technical talent or leading reserve talent with innovative entrepreneurial consciousness and lifelong learning abilities.

This major is based on the discipline of Computer Science and Technology.

The core courses of this major include Discrete Mathematics, Data Structures, Formal Languages and Automata, Computer Organization Principles, Operating Systems, Computer Networks, Introduction to Intelligent Specialties, Mathematical Foundations of Intelligent Science, Machine Intelligence, Pattern Recognition and Machine Learning, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, Fundamentals of Brain and Cognitive Sciences, Machine Vision Technology, and Natural Language Processing.

The program takes four years to complete and confers a Bachelor of Engineering degree.
