The Intelligent Perception and Computing Research Center is dedicated to the intelligent analysis and processing of massive and ubiquitous perceptual data, also the intelligent decision-making theory and technology based on perceptual information. Towards internationally cutting-edge technology and nationally major strategic needs in terms of network infrastructure, public security, healthcare, and digital economy, the Center builds a top-tier innovation platform integrating talent cultivation, theory innovation, technology development, and industry incubation. The Center focuses on fundamental technological breakthroughs, providing critical solutions and products through the cooperation of industry, academia and research.
The Center is currently focusing on five research directions: 1) intelligent computation of ubiquitous network perceptual big data, 2) intelligent network optimization and routing algorithms, 3) intelligent image computation for public safety, 4) intelligent computation of multimodal space-based perceptual data, and 5) intelligent diagnosis assistance with human-machine collaboration. The Center has 12 professors, 2 senior engineers, and 80+ doctoral and master students, forming a powerful research team with the director professor as the core, young professors as the leaders, and outstanding graduate students as the main force.
The Center has published 300+ journal and conference papers, and has authorized 30+ patents in related research fields. The Center has won the Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress and the Second Prize of Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Progress. The Center has also won many awards in various international and domestic competitions, including the champion of MICCAI International Medical Conference Diagnostic Competition, the first place in "Tianzhi Cup" Artificial Intelligence Challenge, and the first prize in China Artificial Intelligence Creativity Competition.
The Center has built deep cooperation with industrial partners, and has produced solutions that have made significant contributions to national industrial development and social services. The highlights include an ultra high-speed nationwide network traffic analysis system, an intelligent tax big data analysis platform serving 10+ provinces in China, a demonstration application supporting "Gaofen-2" satellite, and a diagnosis assistance system that has been used for clinical research in many first-class hospitals. The Center will continue to establish further cooperation with domestic and foreign universities, research institutes, public agencies, and enterprises to jointly explore the comprehensive development of intelligent perception and computing technologies from theoretical fundamentals to practical applications.
