Time:July 2, 2024

The Center for Artificial Intelligence in Medical Imaging (CAIMI) supports the interdisciplinary construction of "Intelligent + Medicine + X" at the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications. It is a crucial team in supporting the Intelligent Medical Engineering program. Currently, the center consists of 3 professors, 5 associate professors, 2 lecturers, 1 engineer, and 4 postdoctoral fellows. Eighty percent of the members have international work experience, including at institutions such as the University of Cambridge, UCSF, Duke, etc.

The center relies on the BUPT Intelligent Medicine Platform, which features state-of-the-art hardware and software facilities with a 3.0T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system as the core equipment. Research focuses on topics such as the principles of brain cognition, early intelligent recognition techniques for major brain diseases related to cognitive impairment, brain and intelligence development in children and adolescents, and novel non-invasive brain-computer interfaces. A series of pioneering scientific studies, integrating "information, medicine, and engineering," have been conducted in the past years. The team has published numerous academic papers in major journals, such as Nature Communications, Nature Mental Health, Advanced Science, Science Bulletin, Radiology, eClinicalMedicine, Alzheimer's & Dementia, Brain, and Biological Psychiatry. These papers have been cited over 10,000 times in total. Additionally, the center has open-sourced several toolkits and has received multiple provincial and ministerial-level scientific and technological awards.
